The Yellow Group is for toddlers between 18 months and 3 years old.
Hello, my name is Catherine and I come from England. I have a Diploma in Preschool Practice and have been working at the VEP since 2006.
The Preschool years are extremely important in terms of a child's development as this is when they learn communication, social and physical skills. Children should be given a positive introduction to learning while being encouraged to be independent, as this is essential for building self-confidence, individuality and vital life skills.
I find it fascinating working in such an international environment where many children are either bi-lingual or even multi-lingual. My aim is to provide the children in our care with a nurturing and emotionally supportive environment which is key to language development. Children are encouraged to learn the English language through music, books and various activities, either in groups or on a one-to-one basis. We provide a vast range of stimulating materials and activities designed to challenge and encourage your child's learning and development in a secure surrounding.
I am here to assist with your child's transition from home to our preschool as smoothly as possible by meeting your child's individual needs.
Hello, my name is Joanna and I come from Wales which is in the UK where both languages, English and Welsh, are spoken. I have worked as a Civil Servant for the British Government for 30 years. However, in July 2018 I moved to Vienna to accompany my husband with his profession and am now currently on a 4 year career break.
I commenced working at VEP in September 2020 and am very grateful to the staff for the lovely warm welcome they gave me and for accepting me into their close-knit team. I feel privileged to work at the VEP as it is a sought after Preschool with excellent standards. In addition, my position as Classroom Assistant is very rewarding as the children are absolutely adorable and a total pleasure to be around.
While at school I studied Child Development and learnt that the first few years of a child's life is where they learn most of their life skills. I am therefore very eager to help the children develop their interpersonal skills through playing and interacting with both myself and the other children.
I have a passion for art and enjoy encouraging the children to express themselves through drawing and painting and to expand their creativity through role play.
I enjoy playing with puzzles and jigsaws with the children as this helps build their eye-hand coordination and promotes problem solving skills.
I believe it is very important that the children have plenty of encouragement and praise as these are both key factors to build confidence and self worth.
I have 3 children of my own and they all attended Preschool while both me and my husband worked. I am therefore fully aware of the importance for any parent of finding a Preschool that can provide a safe and nurturing environment for their child.
A respectable and reliable Preschool like VEP not only benefits children but it also allows parents to go to work or go about their day, safe in the knowledge that their little ones are being properly looked after and cared for.
My name is Sophia and I am very proud to be a part of Vienna English Preschool now!
I graduated in 2020 and started working as a kindergarten teacher right after my graduation.
I am also a student at the Pedagogical University of Lower Austria. There I attend the course of studies in primary education, because I want to work as an elementary school teacher later.
For now, however, I am concentrating on the education I specialized in at school and that is kindergarten.
I particularly enjoy working with children of this age because the developmental steps become so clearly visible. The children are given moments of success here and I find that one of the most fulfilling aspects of this job.
One didactic principle that I find particularly important in my job is gender sensitivity. In addition, equal opportunity is also particularly close to my heart. I simply think that all children, regardless of their gender, age, nationality, social background or talents and challenges, have the right to equal opportunities.
With this in mind, I look forward to a joint educational partnership with you.
Hello, my name is Ana, and I come from Melbourne, Australia.
I have been living in Vienna for the past 6 years.
After completing my studies, I dove into the world of Fashion for 8 years.
During this time, I was lucky to have amazing mentors that taught me many new skills and instilled in me the work ethic I have today.
At 24 years old, I took a year off to move to Manila, Philippines and learn more about my culture, it was during this time my love for teaching was ignited.
I taught English to young students and the fulfillment and joy I got from this was something I had never experienced before.
When arriving in Vienna, I took advantage of my English skills and worked as an Assistant in a Bilingual Kindergarten.
After some time, I decided to further my education so in 2019 I completed a course as a Daycare Teacher which landed me a teaching job in a Bilingual Kindergroup in the heart of Vienna.
I’m a very passionate person and believe the early stages of a child’s education is very important.
Through my time working with children, I have realized that teaching and building relationships is what brings me joy and makes my life meaningful.
Witnessing development milestones is something I feel very privileged to be a part of.
I’m always excited to share with children the skills to learn for themselves and motivate them to be the best individuals they can be.
I would describe myself as a friendly, creative, enthusiastic, empathetic, patient person who is eager to learn and has a strong love for my family and friends.
VEP has welcomed me with open arms, and I only hope to make amazing memories with the children and colleagues in the future.
