Three bright, light and airy rooms with aesthetically pleasing spaces are at our pupil’s disposal. The large ceiling to floor windows offer a full view of the adjacent park and make for many meaningful conversations about the weather, nature, seasons etc. throughout the day.
The spacious classrooms are designed to meet the specific needs of each of the three age groups we cater to:
Yellow Group: For toddlers aged 12 months to 3 years
Green Group: For 3 and 4 year olds
Blue Group: For pre-schoolers aged 5 and 6 years
Each room is carefully prepared and equipped with the latest learning materials, educational toys and age appropriate resources to support children’s development, spark their curiosity and provide a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning through play.
Children in each group have daily access to a construction area, a role play area, a sensory area, a book corner and a creative area.
Our extensive library of English and German story books and non-fiction titles is constantly updated and renewed by the teachers in response to the children’s interests and forthcoming classroom topics.
At the V.E.P. we believe that creative arts are crucial for the developing child.
Simple creative activities stimulate and foster children’s imagination and help them cultivate their abilities across every domain.
Our classrooms are stocked with high quality art and craft materials that invite pupils to express themselves artistically and experiment with different media and techniques whilst learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics. Colourful, inspiring and lively examples of children’s artworks are always on display, adorning our kindergarten walls.
Each classroom has doors that open directly into a neighbouring park, allowing us full access to the extensive gardens and a fully equipped adventure playground where our little ones have ample opportunity to enhance their gross motor skills.
An additional, covered play area in front of the kindergarten provides protection against the elements and ensures that all our pupils reap the benefits of outdoor play, twice daily, irrespective of the weather.
A newly equipped gymnasium, located in our building, provides 140 m2 of space for children to express themselves through movement and use during physical activities and games.
Each group has a weekly physical education programme in the gym, and the space is also used to host some of the extra-curricular activities we offer, including Drama Club, Music Club, Sport Club and Football Club.
Our location
We are very lucky to be surrounded by the River Danube and the “Alte Donau” lake, as well as many beautiful parks along the river bank.
Donaupark - with its many outdoor amenities including playgrounds, gardens, woodland, lake and miniature railway – is only a short (traffic-free) walk from the kindergarten, and the perfect place for regular excursions and nature walks with the children.
The close proximity of the U1 (Kaisermühlen) underground line and other public transport links makes it possible for teachers to organise as many exciting outings as possible to nearby museums and other places of interest in Vienna.
Vienna English Preschool is located only a few minutes’ walk from the Vienna International Centre which is home to the United Nations, and lies at the heart of the Donau-City business district and residential development in Vienna’s 22nd district.
There are many schools in the vicinity to choose from when children are ready to move on from VEP, including the Vienna Bilingual School (VBS) “Volkschule Donaucity” which is conveniently situated only a few metres away. Two further VBS schools are situated a short distance away, and the 22nd district is also home to the Vienna International School.
