The Blue Group

The Blue Group is for Preschoolers aged 5 to 6 years.

 Hi, my name is Ana and I come from Melbourne, Australia.  I have lived in Vienna for 9 amazing years and feel so happy to be working at Vienna English Preschool.

After completing my education in Australia, I worked in the Retail industry where I was able to build my career for 8 years. During this time, I was able to gain plenty of experience and learn many skills from my mentors and team members.

In 2016 I began working as an English Native Speaker Assistant for a Kindergarten in Vienna. It was my first time working with children and instantly I knew this was going to be my new career.  I decided to pursue early childcare and enrolled myself in a course that allowed me to run my own class in a bilingual daycare in the heart of Vienna.  During this time, I realized more and more how rewarding teaching children really is. After 3 years of being a group leader, I decided it was time to pursue further education and this was only possible with me working at VEP. I joined VEP back in 2021 and was able to work in the Green and Blue Group. Within this time, I worked with the most amazing teachers who helped shape me into the teacher I am today. It was during this time I decided to further my studies while working full-time in the Blue Group.  In 2023, I completed a Diploma in early education which has opened more doors for me and has helped me develop and evolve as a teacher and has given me new and fresh ideas to implement into the classroom.

I feel very privileged to be a part of a child’s early education journey, to witness milestones and help a child develop is a big passion of mine.  Bringing positive energy and creating a healthy safe environment is what I like to achieve in a classroom. VEP is a very special place, with educators whose goals and ethos all align which then has created a wonderful environment for your child’s journey in early education. I’m very eager to meet you all too then build great relationships and memories together.

Hi! My name is Sara and I come from California, USA.

I am a first generation American, as my father is Austrian and my mother is Armenian. I was fortunate enough to spend much of my childhood traveling all around Europe, visiting family and sightseeing, and so I absolutely fell in love with Austria and Europe as a whole. 

I also love languages and exploring other cultures so in 2021, I graduated from UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara) with a degree in Japanese and Translation studies. I spent 7 months studying abroad in Japan under an internship which was an amazing opportunity that really made me realise how much I loved living abroad. 

One of my biggest passions is also music. I've been playing piano for nearly 20 years, playing competitively while I was in high school, and graduating from the Certificate of Merit program.

I also spent 7 years in a youth orchestra playing the violin as well, where we toured and performed in different countries across Europe, such as France, Germany, and Greece.

However it wasn't until 2022 that I discovered my passion for education and working with children. I worked as a tutor at Kumon, a learning center, with children from preschool to high school age and absolutely fell in love with teaching and educating. I loved working with kids of all ages but I instantly knew that my dream future career would be something involving working with children, particularly younger children. 

After working at Kumon and privately tutoring in America for 2 years, I decided I wanted to pursue teaching abroad as a career so I moved to Vienna in 2023. 

I worked as an English teacher in various kindergartens and elementary schools for a year, but now I am super excited to start working for VEP! I aim to pursue a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in the near future as well. 

I can't wait to meet and work with so many amazing kids and teachers in such a rich multicultural environment. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
