Green Group

Our aim in the Green Group is to provide a fun, learning experience in a comfortable and creative environment for  2 ½  to 4 year olds.

We focus very strongly on language skills by reading stories, singing songs and devising games and activities which help to broaden the children’s vocabulary as well as encouraging them to speak in full sentences. We aim to strengthen the children’s basic literacy and numeracy skills by playing games which are based around counting, number recognition, shapes and colours.

Our arts and craft activities are designed to provide the children with the freedom to experiment with different mediums, and to be as creative as possible. It is our aim to strengthen the children’s motor skills during these activities, by using scissors, fine paint brushes, etc.

We pay a lot of attention to building the children’s concentration, sitting skills and attention span. We encourage the children to be self sufficient (e.g. pouring their own water, dressing themselves and going to the toilet), which helps to build their confidence. Following instructions, putting hands up before speaking during group discussions, as well as and snack and lunchtime manners are important and always highly praised.

Throughout the year we cover many exciting topics. Each month, a new topic is introduced, and it is our aim to ensure that the main activities, discussions, arts, crafts, games, songs and stories will relate to the relevant topic at that time.
